Where is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge located at Walt Disney World Resort?

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open at Walt Disney World Resort on 29th August 2019. At opening, the land will include dining, shopping and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open later this year, on 5th December 2019.

Capacity is limited. Admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios—including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and its experiences— may be restricted or unavailable depending on guest demand and other factors.

What attractions will Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge feature?

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will feature 2 signature attractions—Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run opening 29th August 2019 and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opening 5th December 2019.

At Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Guests will climb into the cockpit of “the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy” for their own Star Wars adventures. The second attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, is one of the most advanced and immersive experiences ever undertaken by Walt Disney Imagineering, where Guests can join a climactic battle against the First Order.

However, there is much more than these 2 attractions! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge takes Guests to the planet, Batuu, which is a destination along the galaxy’s Outer Rim on the frontier of Wild Space. Batuu is home to Black Spire Outpost, an infamous port for smugglers, traders and adventurers who wish to avoid any unnecessary entanglements with the First Order.

Why is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening in a second phase?

We are pushing the boundaries of innovation and technology with these signature attractions and will not open an attraction until it exceeds our expectations. We also know the level of excellence our guests expect from Disney and we take that very seriously.

If Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is opening later, do you expect the land to be more crowded, with less to do?

There is so much to experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! A key design focus of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was to make the land itself a featured attraction as guests step into their own Star Wars adventure, becoming part of the action as it unfolds around them well beyond the two signature attractions with details, shops, and food, beverage and entertainment offerings on the planet of Batuu, which is a destination along the galaxy’s Outer Rim on the frontier of Wild Space.
